Super Mario Bros (the video game) burst onto cathode ray tubes across America just in time for Christmas 1985, and the world was forever changed.
It was such a worldwide phenomenon, spawning multiple sequels across Nintendo consoles, that the story of Mario and Luigi just HAD to be told on the silver screen.
In the summer of 1993, Super Mario Bros.: The Movie premiered and was quickly dismissed as B-Movie fodder, and established the axiom that film adaptations of video games just simply are not good.
Now, thirty years later, the Mario Brothers pick up their plungers again to try to remove the stinky clog they left in movie theaters last time (ala Mike Ruby) with their new motion picture adventure: The Super Mario Bros.
